What is Spiritual Direction?
Spiritual direction is based on the foundation that God is with you, desiring a relationship with you and is communicating his love to you. Spiritual direction is having a spiritual companion journey with you in your spiritual life by listening, asking curious questions, and being prayerful with you. It's a sacred time to create space for you to explore your faith journey and experience of God by quieting the distractions and exploring where God is in the ordinary places and sometimes confusing, disorienting seasons of life.
How is Spiritual Direction Different than Counseling?
Spiritual direction is not counseling, mentoring, discipleship, teaching, or coaching. In spiritual direction, the way you are--or in some cases are not--experiencing God in the present is the focus.
A spiritual director's role is to pay attention with you to God's actions in your life, and together you both will notice and reflect on how you are responding to God's activity and invitations.
How do I know if this is for me?
Some people come to spiritual direction when they feel "stuck" spiritually, or when they have trouble finding God. Some people have church hurt, are burned out, or have some other spiritual life pain. Others come to spiritual direction regularly simply as part of their own spiritual practice.
You don't need to be in any certain place on your spiritual journey to come for direction.
You are welcome as you are. Doubts, questions, and uncertainties are part of everyone's spiritual journey and are to be expected as you move through your life.

Our office manager is here to answer any questions you might have and schedule your first session. She'll also send paperwork via our client portal.
Your First Session
Before your first official spiritual direction session, you will have a 45-minute consultation meeting to clarify any questions and determine if this is a good fit for you and for us. The consultation meeting is free!
Once we've decided to move forward together in spiritual direction, we will schedule our next session together.
We are located at 228 E. 15th St. near downtown. Parking is located in the lot directly west of us next to The Harrison Center and along the surrounding streets. Your spiritual director will meet you at the door, as the doors are often locked for security reasons.
During your first spiritual direction session, you and your spiritual director will go over your paperwork and he will answer any questions you have.
Spiritual Direction Fees
The session fee for spiritual direction is $75 per 1-hour session. Payment is due at time of service and can made by credit/debit card, check, or cash.
