Joelle Waskom, LMHCA
Master of Arts in Counseling
Liberty University
Joelle believes that the therapeutic relationship is key to healing as she seeks to create an environment that is safe, open, and welcoming, while showing compassion toward each person's story and experience. She seeks to ensure that trust and safety are established in order for clients to feel like they can be vulnerable. Joelle desires to sit with clients in their hardships as they process through their experiences, so they can walk in the freedom, wholeness, and abundant life that Jesus offers.
Joelle believes that there is power in diving into our past to identify which parts of ourselves need healing and attention. She enjoys working with children, adolescents, and adults who have experienced trauma or abuse, have foster or adoption history, or are battling with daily life struggles. She is trained in two trauma therapies - Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). Joelle believes each person has the capacity to heal and be set free from the pain and brokenness they have experienced.
Joelle has availability Monday-Friday and offers evening sessions.
